To be considered for SMA opportunities you must first create and develop a TOD profile. Once your profile reaches 80%, the formal process begins.
When you log into TOD, you will see a green number in the upper left corner of the screen that indicates the level of completeness of your profile. If you hover your mouse over this number, it will give you a list of areas that can be filled in to increase your profile’s completeness. These fields will all be found under the My Profile tab.
Here are a few tips on how to fill out your TOD profile. The tabs you should focus the most on are the Bio, Education, Employment History, Deployment Roles, and Project History tabs.
Please do not copy and paste from a resume. This leaves sentences cut off and inconsistent formatting.
Bio Tab
- Personal Information: Please make sure you enter all your personal information correctly.
- Professional Summary: Should be a brief summary of your professional experience. Do not include dates, as this information will be captured in your employment and project history.
Employment History
- Be sure each entry is complete (Company, Position, Location, Years, Position Description)
Deployment Roles
- Roles: We recommend having 1-3 roles total and adding 10-15+ associated projects to each role (minimum 10 year history is recommended)
- Deployment Role Summary Statements: Should detail your years of experience in that role across all projects and employers. Please do not use the same statement across all deployment roles. Each role must include a unique statement.
Project History
- Projects: We like to see 10-15+ projects (minimum 10 year history recommended) for each of your Deployment Role(s).
- Project History Impact Statements: Allow 255 characters. Each project must include a unique impact statement. A lot can be said in 255 characters if you use them wisely. Don't reiterate roles, companies, tool names. They automatically display on your Profile when a Client or BD Lead generates it from TOD. Focus your impact statement on the value you added during the effort. What technology did you develop; how did you move the needle toward the win; what did you do to ensure deliverables released on time, on cost, with quality; how did you save the day; what insurmountable challenge did you overcome. These are the types of things you should describe in your impact statements.
- Project History: Market Areas & End Customers: It is important to populate these fields (if applicable) as these are searchable fields for clients and our Business Development leads. To populate the End Customer, when adding or editing a project, scroll to the bottom, populate all fields in order to save.
- For projects longer than 18 months: We ask you to break up projects that last longer than 18 months into different phases (phase one, phase two, etc), as projects demands and deliverables often change in 18 months. Please tell us what you did during each phase of the project. Tell us about what lifecycle phase you were working on or completing, what reviews you prepared for and completed, or unique challenges to a particular phase.
Please note, our firm offers project-based opportunities. We do not hire for a specific position nor guarantee full-time work. Our assignments and the duration of the assignments are based on the specific needs of our clients.
